The evening before we met up to discuss the wknds activities and meet the people we were to be trekking with! Our guides name was GI IS! We began our trip getting up at 5.30am to be downstairs for breakfast at 6! We had ordered our food the evening before so all ready to go. We boarded the four by four with us in the back of the car part so we had a bit more sleep- unfortunately our guest house and room was almost directly behind a club with very loud music and bass til 5am! So we probably only got about an hours sleep if that. As a consequence, combined with the bumpy ride and turns, Anna's travel sickness got the better of her and we drove the rest of the way with her head out of the window! Meanwhile Liam ate some live grasshoppers at the country stop in spirit of the trek. Catching them was fun but eatting them not so much. Back on the road, if you could call it that, the car continued over the bumps and dirt hitting the branches stretching out into the road along the way. We were finally dropped off at a small developing hill village where we sat down on a bamboo mat and were handed our "surprise" lunch wrapped in bamboo leaf.
